Prof. Steve Azaiki, member representing Yenagoa-kolokuma/Opokuma Federal Constituency has organized a two-day leadership training and enterprise programme for members of his constituency.
The programme aimed at empowering the attendees with vital knowledge and skills, for effective leadership in their various personal endeavours, organisational settings, and for the good of society was held in collaboration with GOTNI Leadership Institute (Center) in Jabi, Abuja.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the training, the Sponsor of the programme, Prof. Steve Azaiki, noted that human capacity building was one of the promises he made to his Constituents, assuring that more of such programmes would be done in the future, locally and abroad.
Azaiki acknowledged that youths from his Constituency and Bayelsa State, have the potential to aspire to any height in life, by dint of hard work, and if given necessary support by leaders.
He however, advised against prefence for momentary cash handouts from leaders, and rather urged youths to seek support for personal development in order to be self-reliant.
Dignitaries at the opening ceremony were: Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tony Ndidi Elumelu; Minister of State for Mines and Steel, Hon. (Dr.) Uche Ogah; His Excellency Ambassador Godknows Boladei Igali, Pro-chancellor and Chairman of Governing Council, Federal University of Science and Technology (FUTA), Akure; Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Moses Jitibo; President of Nigerian Young Professionals, Mr. Seliko Moses, among others.
On his part, the Chairman of GOTNi Leadership Training Center, Dr. Linus Okorie who delivered the first paper entitled “Developing the mind for productivity“, highlighted vision, integrity, passion, innovation, courage and intellectual capacity as the hallmark of effective and efficient leadership that every aspiring leader needs to be equipped with.
Dr. Okorie added that every great invention and discovery that is useful to society, started from a creative mind and made manifest by effective leadership.
Participants expressed appreciation to the sponsor, Prof. Steve Azaiki and GOTNI for given them the opportunity to attend the the programme which they said has expanded their horizons to what it takes to be an effective leader in their personal and organisational callings.
