The events that have dominated conversations in last few days no doubt have challenged our psyche, thoughts and our collective existence. I wish to state that we as Ogbians are not a conquered people neither are we broken because we are blessed not even by the reason of thought as this can only happen if we accept such a postulation. History has shown that after every given political cycle new leaders emerge and I can assure you that the land has began preparing the next set of leaders for higher calling.
I call on you today my beloved Ogbians not to despair because hope is on it’s way and once again new leaders are presently been groomed from relatively obscure unknown position by the land to take us to the promise land. What we have experienced is like going through the furnace so we can come out refined as a finished product to be treasured and sought after.
Where we are today can be likened to the case of the children of Israel during their travails in the wilderness and God is preparing for us the leader that will take us forward.
I have the strong conviction that we are moving forward as a people and just like a moving train we can’t be stopped not even now. I speak to you reading this piece to prepare your self because you may be the one saddled with the responsibility to take us to the promise land and what we required is that you beat the achievements of our leaders in time past.
The time to lament over perceived failure of yesterday is gone, we need to evaluate where we are today and prepare ourselves for the journey that we will embark on tomorrow. The onus now rest on you to do things differently as leaders and you are expected to surpass those we have criticised all along.
The achievements of yesterday can not remain our benchmarks, new legacies are required to set as benchmarks for the next generation.
It is important to note that if we fail then be rest assured that the next generation will not forgive us.
