President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed another Ogbia Son in the person of Chief (Dr.) Samuel Ogbuku to the Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
The federal government, on Wednesday, January 4th, 2023 inaugurated the governing board of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC with the appointment of Chief Dr. Samuel Ogbuku as the Managing Director.
You may recall that in 2019 President Muhammadu Buhari also appointed an Ogbia Son Hon. Maxwell Okoh into the Executive Director of Finance and Administration at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
Chief (Dr.) Samuel Ogbuku is the Deputy paramount ruler of the Ayakoro Community in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State and his appointment as the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) is for a tenure of two years.

Speaking during the inauguration, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, urged the members of the board to be above board, adding that they should work towards policies that would contribute to the coordinated development of the Niger Delta.
Also, the Minister of State, Federal Ministry of Niger-Delta Affairs, Mrs. Sharon Ikeazu, urged the new board to work towards restoring hope to the people of the region.
