Ogbia Youth Day 2021: See the Activities lined up to mark the Day

The Leadership of the Ogbia Brotherhood, Youth Council has unveiled the program of activities for this year’s commemoration of the Ogbia Youth Day AKA Eyal Odionin.

This year’s event which aims to bring together the illustrious sons and daughters of Ogbia Kingdom In commemoration of the unification of all the 52 autonomous towns/villages in Ogbia to one united and Central authority viz-a-viz the Ogbia Brotherhood established in 1940 has its theme as ‘Ogbia Rebirth‘

The event which will be held under the Chairmanship of Prof. Alison Oguru (Former Secretary to the State Government, Bayelsa State) and Hon (Dr.) Ebinyo Marvin Turner (Executive Chairman Ogbia LGA) as chief Host is scheduled to hold as follows:

Day 1: Friday 1st October 2021 will feature a Public Lecture/Panel Discussion as well as the Face Of Ogbia Beauty Pageant.

Venue: Federal University Otuoke, Auditorium 

Time: 12 noon.

Dress code: White/Red Etibo and Enziri (Men) and white/red blouse with a blue wrapper.

The Public lecture will feature two topics:

1. ‘The Ogbia People & It’s Culture in Contemporary Society to be delivered by the  Keynote Speaker Prof. Arikawei R. Apuega (Rector, Institute of tourism and hospitality)

2. The Role Of Women In Ogbia Consciousness by Prof. Joy Hamilton-Ekeke (Professor of Health Education)

Day 2: Saturday 2nd October 2021 is the finale which will showcase the best of Ogbia Traditional Wrestling, Traditional Dancing, carnival etc

Venue: UPE School Field, Ogbia City (Town).

Time: 12 noon.

Dress code: Ogbia traditional dressing
