The people of Imiringi community, an autonomous community in Ogbia Local Government and the host of the Bayelsa State gas turbine came out in their large numbers despite the heavy downpour to exercise their franchise in the Bayelsa State Governorship election.

Imiringi is the home town to Barrister Peter Afagha, the current Bayelsa State commissioner of Power as well as Chief Samuel Ogbuku, ex-Chief of Staff under former Governor of Bayelsa State Timipre Sylva and currently a senior special adviser on Niger Delta Affairs to the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo -Agege.
