Presidency Speaks on the Tradermoni distribution in Bayelsa

The  Presidency has defended the latest distribution of N10, zero every to merchants in the a range of open markets in Bayelsa State. It defined that the action was now not with the intention of shopping for their votes as being speculated by way of some people.

 The Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on the Social Investment Programme, Maryam Uwais, stated this in an interview with journalists in Abuja. She spoke against the background that the action used to be aimed at wooing voters in the state ahead of the November governorship election. Uwais  maintained that the SIP used to be now not intended to solicit help for the All Progressives Congress.

 The presidential aide said she led her crew to Bayelsa State recently on the invitation of Governor Seriake Dickson,  who she said  lamented the bad disbursement of  Trader moni in the state. She said, “The allegation that we only target states the place elections are coming up is now not correct.  It is very disheartening that humans are now not listening to those that reveal us and we have  been on this work given that 2016.

 “I went to Bayelsa recently because the governor asked me to give an explanation for why the programme used to be low in Bayelsa State. He asked me if it used to be due to the fact they (Bayelsa State Government) are in a one of a kind political celebration and I stated no.
